Introduction
This course provides the skills required to carry out internal audits against ISO 9001:2026 requirements. It will teach you how to plan, prepare for and conduct internal audits, report findings and verify the effectiveness of corrective action. Internal audits satisfy the requirements of ISO 9001, which stipulates regular audits should be conducted at planned intervals to uphold an approval. Conducted properly, an internal audit can improve organisational performance and your QMS at the same time.

What you need to prepare
- Prior knowledge of management systems and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle
- An understanding of the core elements of a management system and the relationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review and continual improvement quality management
- An understanding of fundamental quality management concepts and principles
- Relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction
- An understanding of ISO 9001:2026 requirements and commonly used terms and definitions. This can be gained by attending our Introduction to ISO 9001 course or equivalent.

Course Duration
For in-person classroom and virtual instructor-led training (VILT) courses: 2 days.
For blended courses: 8 hours of online learning, divided into 10 eLearning modules that can be completed over a period of up to ten days, followed by 1 full day of in-person classroom training or virtual instructor-led training (VILT).
