The Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS) exists to provide assurance to the lending community that innovatively constructed properties will be sufficiently durable as to be readily saleable for a minimum of 60 years. The scheme serves as the vehicle for the standardisation of best practice across the offsite construction and offsite manufacturing industries.
With Building LifePlans Ltd (BLP), we accredit designers, manufacturers, and constructors involved in offsite manufactured systems, through an audit process designed to provide lenders with the highest level of quality assurance.
Backed by the industry
The scheme has been developed by Buildoffsite, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), LRQA and BLP, in consultation with the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) and the Building Societies Association (BSA). It focuses on ensuring that accredited organisations have robust systems and procedures underpinned by a risk based approach which enables them to competently, and safely, deliver products or services which meet the requirements of their clients.
