LEARN TO PERFORM INTERNAL FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AUDITS

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to perform first-party audits of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) against a company’s FSMS requirements based on ISO/FSSC 22000. During the course, delegates will learn how to audit a Food Safety Management System.

• the basic principles of the internal auditing process
• the contribution audits make to the effectiveness and improvement of an FSMS
• the roles and responsibilities of an internal auditor
• to prepare for audit and generate relevant questions
• to gather objective evidence through interviewing and reviewing documentation
• how to relate your audit findings to applicable requirements
• to report your findings accurately

• Before starting this course, learners are encouraged to take an introductory course to Food Safety Management Systems and ISO/FSSC 22000. For a successful completion, we recommend the following previous knowledge:

  • knowledge of ISO/FSSC 22000 (ideally gained from attending LRQA’s 1-day Introduction to FSMS based in ISO 22000:2018 and FSSC 22000 v5 or a later version)
  • experience of working in the food supply chain
  • basic understanding of prerequisite programs and HACCP
  • to understand the basics of how organisations manage food safety

An exam is not applicable.

Learners who actively participate during the entire program will be issued with a Certificate of Completion.

Pre-course work with eLearning: 3 – 6 hours.

We have two modalities available for this course:

• Classroom training: two days – 9.00 to 17.00 hours

• Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT): two days – 9.00 to 15.30 hours

Note: Participants of the classroom sessions will have less preparations and have more possibilities to practice during the course.
