LRQA announces new range of online training courses for ISO 45001.

LRQA's new eLearning and blended options give organisations an engaging, effective and flexible way to learn about the new international occupational health and safety standard.

LRQA has launched five new eLearning courses to expand its existing face-to-face training portfolio for ISO 45001, to give customers more flexibility when developing their knowledge and skills to succeed at work. Further new eLearning options will be launched throughout 2019.

The needs of today’s learners have changed.

“Today’s workforce is looking for training that fits with busy lifestyles and minimises the time away from the ‘day job’, while still delivering a business impact. Our research shows that face-to-face training is still valued and is particularly important for practical, skills-based training and that will remain a key service for us,” commented Maggie Turner, LRQA's business lead on the project. “However, there is demand for high quality online training that helps people do their jobs better and can be completed at the learner’s own pace, at a time and place to suit them. That is what we have set out to deliver alongside our traditional face-to-face courses.”

As well as introducing eLearning courses, LRQA is also launching a new training platform that makes the booking process for both face-to-face training and eLearning easy and allows delegates to access the online courses on any device. For Apple users, there is an app that enables delegates to download course content to their iPad to work offline – perfect if you are working in a Wi-Fi blackspot or want to access the content when travelling. The new platform is also designed to work for LRQA customers who work with us to develop customised training, specific to their organisational requirements.

Not all eLearning is the same.

In a market where dozens of online health and safety courses exist, LRQA's ISO 45001 eLearning courses stand out as they benefit from the same level of technical expertise as our proven face-to-face courses, while enabling delegates to access the course online and study at their own pace, at a time and place to suit them.

Our training developers and trainers are experienced practitioners who understand the learner’s working environment and the challenges they face; this is reflected in the eLearning content as well as in the face-to-face setting. LRQA's eLearning courses are designed to suit different learning styles by using a mixture of formats including audio, visual and interactive elements. Learners can test their knowledge as they progress with exercises and end of module tests.

Two blended courses have been developed especially for OH&S auditors and internal auditors, which combine online digital media with traditional face-to-face methods to give increased flexibility. As an alternative to the traditional 2-day face-to-face Internal Auditor or Auditor Migration courses, you can now choose a 7-hour eLearning option that incorporates the theoretical elements of the course, which can be completed at your own pace, followed by a one-day face-to-face experience, which focuses on the practical skills needed to plan and complete an effective audit. This allows for interaction with other delegates and the chance to ask questions to give the perfect balance of flexibility and focus.

Paul Butcher, Managing Director, Business Assurance & Inspection Services, LRQA added: “It can be difficult to keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practice, so I am delighted that LRQA's new eLearning courses fit around people’s busy schedules and help them to succeed professionally and to use those new skills to deliver real business benefit.”
