Overview

First published in 1998, this standard provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, plus the operational controls for these criteria in the food and food ingredient manufacturing, processing and packing industry. The Global Standard for Food Safety is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), meaning successful certification helps your business retain or unlock access to key markets.

The 9th issue of the standard was launched in August 2022 and LRQA can help to ensure you meet the new audit criteria.
