Preventing online crime with LRQA & Nettitude

The rising number of cyber-attacks encourages more governments to consider information security certification.

Cyber and information security experts from business assurance company LRQA and Nettitude – a member of the LRQA Group – will be on hand to share their experience with police units, government officials and border security personnel from around the world at the UK Home Office’s Security & Policing event on 5-7 March 2019.

The event, which takes place at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, UK will showcase the very latest equipment, training and support with a key focus on demonstrating the opportunities presented by innovative cutting-edge technology.

LRQA currently works with leading police departments such as the London Metropolitan Police, the European Police College, Abu Dhabi Police and the General Directorate of Fujairah Police, providing quality management, health and safety and information security certification as well as training and customised services.

Maggie Slevin, Business Development Manager for information security services at LRQA said: “Quality management and the health and safety of employees have been a primary focus for many police forces in recent years. We’re now seeing additional requirements for information and cyber security as more and more public-sector and state-backed organisations deal with the challenges of online attacks by hackers looking to steal confidential and sensitive information.

“The latest data from the Ponemon Institute highlights that the threat of cyber-attacks from the web, general and advanced malware, compromised or stolen devices and malicious insiders all increased during 2018. A robust integrated management system that includes information security certification ensures organisations are putting in place systems and processes to mitigate risks to security – whether physical or online.”

Together (LRQA) and Nettitude provide a complete suite of cyber security assurance services to help organisations identify, protect, detect, respond and recover from cyber threats. Spanning compliance, training and auditing to penetration testing, managed security services and incident response, our cyber security services ensure businesses remain resilient in the face of ever more sophisticated attacks.
