Launched in August 2022, the new BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9 builds on food safety requirements, with a focus on embedding a food safety culture and driving continuous improvement and quality through risk-based planning.

For organisations to achieve BRCGS Food Safety certification, they must be able to meet the requirements of the standard and effectively address any non-conformities. BRCGS and LRQA collaborated on a webinar focusing on the main challenges that organisations have faced in meeting the requirements of Issue 9 so far. Using audit data and key learnings, the speakers explored the most common non-conformities, their causes and the areas organisations can focus on to avoid them moving forward. Both speakers shared practical insight and tips to help organisations overcome potential challenges, and prepare ahead of their next BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 audit.
