We want to make you aware of a change to the timescales for transition to the revised QMS and EMS standards, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 that have been introduced recently by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), which is the global association of accreditation bodies.
The IAF has announced that from 15 March 2018 all ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 assessments must be performed against the 2015 version of the standard.
This change will impact your organisation as follows:
|Your organisation has already successfully transitionedTransition visit completed but awaiting certificationTransition visit booked pre-15 March 2018Transition visit booked post-15 March 2018
|No action required
|Transition visit not yet booked
|Your transition audit should be scheduled as soon as possible
|Surveillance or Certificate Renewal to ‘old’ standards planned for pre-15 March 2018
|We recommend that we re-plan your visit as a transition audit
|Surveillance or Certificate Renewal to ‘old’ standards not yet scheduled or planned for post-15 March 2018
|We will not be able to carry out this audit and we will need to convert it to a transition audit
If you fall into one of the last three categories, please contact your account manager or local client services team without delay to arrange your audit.
From 15 September 2018, your ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications will no longer be valid. If your organisation has not transitioned by the deadline, you will no longer be able to promote your certification and it could have implications for your ability to do business, where an approval is a contractual requirement.
As your assurance provider, we do not want you to risk losing your certification and we are here to support you through the transition process.
Please note that as of January 2018, we have moved to the LRQA brand and retired the LRQA name.
