Martin heads the global seafood team within LRQA that services clients’ assurance requirements globally across 40 countries and across the seafood supply chain from primary production (fisheries & aquaculture), seafood markets, processing, wholesale, retail and hospitality). He has over 30 years experience of working with international seafood sector and market.
Biography
Martin heads the global seafood team within LRQA that services clients’ assurance requirements globally across 40 countries and across the seafood supply chain from primary production (fisheries & aquaculture), seafood markets, processing, wholesale, retail and hospitality). He has over 30 years experience of working with international seafood sector and market.
His previous experience include several years at FAO EASTFISH, a Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations project providing a fish marketing and investment services for Central and Eastern Europe based in Copenhagen. (This project is now known as the Eurofish Organisation). He was with FAO for five years between 1997 and 2002 as a seafood market information expert.
A graduate in Marine Biology from University College, Swansea in the UK, he was also a former Editor of World Fishing magazine between 1992-1997 and founding editor between 1997-2002 of Eurofish Magazine. Between 1992 and 2008 he contributed the commercial fisheries section to the Encyclopaedia Britannica Book of the Year.
