Ian Spaulding

Ian Spaulding is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of leading global assurance partner, LRQA, which brings together decades of sector-specific expertise and data-driven insight to help our clients navigate a new era of risk. Before becoming CEO, Ian held other roles within the company such as Chief Growth Officer and Assessments Business Director.

Ian’s background is in business assurance, consulting and sustainability, having spent over 25 years in Asia, Europe and the United States, building, leading and growing businesses in those fields. He has worked with some of the largest companies in the world, as well as with local trade unions, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and governments to improve on a range of business, safety, health, quality, social, environmental and operational challenges.

Ian holds a Bachelor’s degree from American University and a Master’s degree from Yale University. In Ian’s early career, he held global leadership positions at Sears Holdings, KPMG and BSR, and later successfully founded a world-class risk and sustainability solutions organisation, ELEVATE, before being acquired by LRQA in April 2022.

As CEO for LRQA, Ian leads the continued execution of the company’s strategy to become the leading global assurance partner in the market, empowering LRQA’s 61,000 clients across 160 countries to be proactive, anticipate risks and ultimately, futureproof their businesses.
