Osbit achieves ISO 45001 certification less than a year after its publication.

Osbit has successfully attained ISO 45001:2018 certification for its occupational health & safety management systems, less than a year since the standard was launched.

The UK-based offshore technology company, which is headquartered in Northumberland, was certified in February 2019 by LRQA. The standard, which is globally recognised, is used to demonstrate a company has a robust occupational health and safety management system in place.

The latest version of the framework is designed to further improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and accommodate health and safety challenges related to increased global trade.

Anthony Snowdon, Management Systems Assessor at LRQA commented, “Osbit has put great emphasis on occupational health and safety, and their certification to ISO 45001 was another milestone in their efforts to drive continuous improvement and build a stronger health and safety culture across the organisation. During the process, Osbit’s personnel showed that their health, safety and welfare at work was the number one priority for everyone.”

Joe Wills, HSEQ Manager at Osbit, said, “This fantastic achievement places Osbit in the highest global standards for Safety and Health at Work management, which makes us very proud.  Health and Safety is at the core of our day-to-day culture, so it was important to us that we adopted this new standard as soon as possible. We are dedicated to continuously improving and being at the forefront of occupational health and safety and achieving ISO 45001 certification demonstrates how fundamental health and safety is to the Osbit business”.
