ASCO Awarded Health and Safety Certification.

LRQA has announced that ASCO Group, a leading materials management and logistics company for the global oil and gas industry, has achieved ISO 45001:2018 certification, following a successfully completed rigorous assessment across its operations in the UK, Norway, Australia, and Trinidad.

Published in March 2018, ISO 45001:2018 is the new international standard that cites requirements for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems. The standard has been created to raise the bar for health and safety in the workplace and provides companies with a framework that will elevate the importance of OH&S on the corporate agenda.

ASCO is one of the first companies to adopt the new standard with LRQA in the UK, highlighting its continuous commitment to continual improvement and health and safety in the workplace. Since ASCO was awarded the ISO 9001 certification in 1996, it has successfully achieved the relevant standards developed by ISO for its quality, environmental and health and safety management systems.

The ISO 45001 standard will encourage ASCO employees to take a prominent role in creating a healthier and safer working environment. This will, in turn, increase business efficiencies by reducing downtime due to accidents or any negative impact to the health and wellbeing of its workforce.
