ISO 45001 AND OHSAS 18001 COMPARISON GUIDE

Comparing OHSAS 18001 with ISO 45001.

The new international standard for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management, ISO 45001 replacing the existing OHSAS 18001 standard has the same aims in terms of improving OH&S performance to prevent work-related injury and ill health. The main difference between the two standards is that ISO 45001 uses Annex SL which will bring OH&S management and continual improvement deeper into the core of an organisation.

Although the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 and OHSAS 18001:2007 are not identical, this comparison guide gives an overview of how the structures of the two standards compare.
