Biography
Based in Colombia, Marcela leads ELEVATE’s advisory services in Hispanic Americas. She has 15 years of experience across various industries leading the design and implementation of sustainability strategies, sustainable innovation for business models and sustainable value chains for national and international companies. This includes a wide experience leading materiality assessments and context-based and data driven sustainability targets setting.
Marcela is an expert on ESG performance evaluation and reporting, impact assessment systems and monitoring and evaluation. She has been leading GRI Certified Trainings and sustainability management trainings since 2010.
Prior to join ELEVATE in 2010, she was Sustainable Development Manager for Carrefour Colombia where she was responsible for the sustainability strategy and CSR programs, including the sustainable supply chain initiatives.
Qualifications
Marcela also served as lecturer and researcher in sustainable local development for the Externado University, in Bogotá, Colombia, where she collaborated in the design of the master’s degree in Corporate Social Responsibility. She has a bachelor’s degree in Government and International Affairs from the Externado University, in Bogotá, and a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Management from the Institut d’Urbanisme de Paris. Marcela is fluent in English and French.
