Introduction
Mac is Associate Director (interim) within LRQA’s APAC Advisory team. Mac has a wealth of experience in advising impact investors, development actors and companies in different sectors on complex labour and human rights issues. He helps clients manage complex labour challenges and strengthen grievance mechanisms across global operations.
Biography
Mac leads LRQA’s work on grievance management, supporting clients in enhancing their human rights due diligence, developing effective strategies for remediation, and building trust with stakeholders. Mac has also led projects for major institutional investors, DFIs and multinational companies, supporting them in integrating human and labour rights considerations into investment processes and operational frameworks, advising on specific human rights challenges and supporting remediation approaches. His advisory experience includes transaction-specific support for investors and development finance institutions, strategic guidance on job quality and impact creation, and tailored solutions for organisations facing complex labour disputes.
Mac joined LRQA when Ergon Associates became a part of the business. Before joining Ergon, Mac practised as a lawyer specialising in labour, employment and human rights.
Mac holds a degree in History and law degrees from Dalhousie University and University College London.
