Introduction
Dr Siva Pariti is a chemical expert and sustainability consultant who has advised the textile, footwear and leather value chain for over 20 years. Siva is currently the Business Director for Sustainable Chemistry and Materials at LRQA. Based in the UK, Siva collaborates with international fashion brands, retailers, textile mills, manufacturers and tanneries, leading research and innovation projects focused on clean chemistry, process excellence, regenerative design, traceability and circularity, zero discharge of hazardous chemicals and climate positivity.
Biography
As a renowned advocate, Siva has contributed to the development of the Fairtrade Textile Standard, the ZDHC CMS Technical Industry Guide. Leveraging his expertise in sustainable waste and wastewater management. He has worked on multiple chemical management assessment projects, including a PaCT-IFC World Bank initiative in Bangladesh, IDH, UNEP programmes in Vietnam and Africa.
On behalf of major brands, Siva has conducted over 400 chemical management audits across textile wet processing mills, natural leather and synthetic leather facilities.
Siva has also served as an Honorary Adjunct Professor in the Department of Intermediates and Dyestuffs Technology at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, and is a frequent speaker on topics such as climate positivity, process excellence and zero-discharge chemical management. He is also actively involved in Fashion for Good programmes and Apparel Impact Institute programmes.
Qualifications
Dr Siva Pariti holds a Ph.D. (Tech) in Intermediates and Dyestuffs Technology from UDCT in Mumbai, India. A Chartered Colourist (C.Col., A.S.D.C.), he was awarded the Silver Medal by the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) and serves as a Member of the SDC Trustee Board.
