Format: Live technical webinar

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has become the global benchmark for corporate climate action, with more than 10,000 companies having set targets under its framework since 2015. Through its supplier engagement provisions, SBTi has also become a powerful driver of decarbonization across global value chains, as leading brands push Scope 3 requirements onto their upstream and downstream partners. For export-oriented manufacturers embedded in these supply chains, that top-down pressure is only intensifying, with direct implications for operations, orders, and long-term customer relationships.

That framework has now entered a new phase. The SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard (CNZS) Version 2.0 has been officially released, with validation submissions opening in 2027 and full mandatory adoption expected by 2028. Companies have less than two years to understand the new requirements and adjust their decarbonization pathways accordingly.

This is not simply a technical update. SBTi is shifting its focus beyond whether companies have set science-based targets, toward whether they can implement real, verifiable emissions reductions and continuously demonstrate the credibility of those targets over time. Expectations are rising across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions management, requirements for low-carbon electricity procurement are becoming more stringent, supply chain decarbonization responsibilities are being pushed further downstream, and transition plans are moving from “nice-to-have” to “must-have.”

We unpacked these changes in detail in our recent article, SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard Version 2 Released: From Target Setting to Climate Transition Delivery, which walks through the key updates from CNZS Version 1.3.1, the added flexibilities introduced since the second consultation draft, and what the new Category A/B structure means for companies of different sizes.

To help companies navigate this transition, RESET Carbon is hosting an interactive webinar dedicated to the business implications of CNZS Version 2 and practical guidance on how to respond.

We’ll address the questions companies care about most:

  • What are the key changes in Version 2 compared with the current standard?
  • Do existing targets need to be resubmitted or adjusted?
  • What new requirements apply to Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions management, low-carbon electricity procurement, and supply chain decarbonization?
  • What should companies do next, depending on their sustainability maturity?

Who Should Attend

Whether your company is just getting started, preparing to submit targets, or already has SBTi-aligned targets in place, this session will help you understand where you stand today and identify priority actions for the transition period.

The new standard has been released, and the window for a wait-and-see approach is closing. Instead of reacting passively, companies should start preparing now, moving from target setting to practical decarbonization roadmap planning and implementation under SBTi V2.
