Biography
Nigel Tijou is the global technical manager for the containers division within LRQA, helping ensure that its surveyors are educated, informed, and certified to inspect ISO containers, offshore equipment, and tanks for the transport of dangerous goods.
A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IMechE, Nigel has 25 years' experience in design appraisal, inspection, auditing and certification of pressurised and intermodal equipment such as CSC containers, ISO containers, offshore containers, offshore portable tanks, road and rail tankers, UN portable tanks, plus pressure equipment to both the PED and TPED (Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive), as well as pressure vessels and piping systems in large plants.
Nigel is also a member of the ISO Committees for Containers and Offshore Containers, the CEN Committee for Tanks and the EC Notified Body Group for the TPED.
