National OHS Audit Tool

Measure the performance of health and safety program.

NAT certification demonstrates to your stakeholders that you're confident in your organisation's ability to meet health and safety requirements.

Overview

In 2005, a multi-jurisdictional working party of regulatory bodies under the Heads of Workers Compensation Authorities was formed to develop an occupational health and safety audit program and a set of audit guidelines that were agreed at a national level. The National Self-Insurer OHS Audit Tool - User Guide and Workbook was an outcome of that process.

Benefits of NAT Safety Audit

NAT certification demonstrates to your stakeholders that you're confident in your organisation's ability to meet health and safety requirements. Not only does it highlight commitment to implementing, maintaining and improving health and safety policy, but it can also provide your organisation with a competitive edge. NAT certification also helps an organisation:

  • measure the performance of its health and safety program
  • implement a cycle of continuous improvement
  • compare its health and safety performance system to a recognised benchmark, and
  • gain recognition for the standards achieved by its management of health and safety.
