Overview
Formed in 1994, Scottish Quality Crops provides certification and assurance for all combinable crops. Working with our team, they adopt a full industry approach, covering all sectors of crop production – from growing and processing to wholesaling. Its members now account for 90% of all combinable crops in Scotland.
What are the benefits?
Comprehensive assurance
The assurance process provides certification on the full production process, including but not limited to: fertilisers and manures, crop protection, harvesting, storage, haulage and worker assessments. Our team will help you meet the highest possible standards of crop growth and harvesting, assessing current compliance and areas of improvement.
Proven traceability
Upon successful completion of the SQC audit, members are supplied a ‘Grain Passport’. This is unique to each member and is thereon associated with crops. This assures complete traceability for trade and consumers.
Wider market access
Traceability and quality assurance play large roles in producers’ relationships with consumers and stakeholders. Assurance gives greater access to market areas. Most major markets expect all grain intakes to be assured to high production standards, covering food safety and environmental care.
