Our voice on marine fuels
Biography
Muhammad is a chartered marine engineer with 20 years of experience in the industry. He started his career as sea-going marine engineer, serving on general cargo and oil tankers of various types and sizes for seven years before joining LRQA ten years ago as FOBAS (Fuel Oil Bunker Analysis and Advisory Service) consultant. In this role, he is responsible for account management of FOBAS clients in Europe, Middle East and Africa, providing technical advice on fuel matters and performing complex machinery failure investigations.
Muhammad is also responsible for the development and service delivery of FOBAS diagnostic tools (FOBAS ENGINE & FOBAS Lube Oil Analysis Services) and explores potential opportunities for LRQA's fuel advisory business, keeping a close eye on the impact of regulations on adoption of future fuels. His role also includes assisting service delivery to manage key accounts, conducting training seminars and courses, raising awareness between our clients for the environmental legislations and representing LRQA on different industry forums such as CIMAC and ISO fuels and Lube standards/guidelines. Being an active member of IMarEST (Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology), Muhammad also reviews papers for the Journal of Marine Engineering & Technology.
I believe in providing practical and simple solutions of complex current and future compliance issues through innovation and taking a holistic view of the system.
