Overview

LRQA provides compliance services to ISO 28007, which is demonstrated by achieving ISO 28000 certification.

The ISO 28000 suite of supply chain security management system standards was created to reduce risk of terrorism, piracy and fraud for organisations who operate in many supply chains. These supply chains could be involved in manufacturing, service, storage or transportation at any stage in the production or supply chain.

ISO 28007 joined the suite in 2012 due to rapid growth in the number of maritime security companies and the implications of using PCASP (legal issues, safety concerns for seafarers and varying national regulations).

Risk assessment

To consider LRQA employee safety, a compulsory preliminary risk assessment will be carried out prior to any ISO 28007 assessment.

If aspects are identified that can’t be directly assessed safely, we will try and develop an alternative methodology to enable us to effectively manage risk, but still enable us to assess you against ISO 28007.

Gap analysis

You have the option to ask for an ISO 28007 gap analysis before certification, enabling you to test your management systems readiness for certification.

We will work with you to determine the scope of your gap analysis, which will enable you to focus on critical, high risk or weak areas of your management system.

At the end of your assessment you will be issued with a report that outlines any areas for improvement and provides recommendations to help you develop a plan for certification.

Assessment & certification

Certification is typically a two-stage process incorporating a system review and initial assessment, to look at how your supply chain security management system has been implemented and whether the additional requirements in ISO 28007 have been addressed.

Our approach extends the focus beyond the certificate to an assessment approach designed to help you meet your strategic objectives.

Assurance services

Don’t let your certification journey stop with ISO 28007. At LRQA, we also provide assessment services to quality, health and safety, environmental, sustainability, energy management, business continuity, cyber security and many more industry standards.

Impartiality

We maintain our impartiality by proactively managing conflicts of interest across all LRQA businesses including those which may exist between consultancy and third-party certification services. Click here to learn more
