LRQA ready to audit new Red Tractor Pigs Scheme customers.

LRQA is willing and able to take on new members of the Red Tractor Pigs scheme following SAI Global’s decision to withdraw from the market.

LRQA has responded to SAI’s announcement that it plans to stop routine assessments at the end of 2019 by confirming to the pig farming industry that it is ready to support any new customers looking to transfer.

SAI will honour any audits that have been booked before the 31st December and will also work with customers to close out corrective actions.

LRQA has been working with the UK agriculture sector since 1995 and conducts around 18,000 farm assurance assessments annually covering livestock, dairy, fresh produce and crops. Mark Scott, Agriculture Supply Chain Account Manager at LRQA said: “At LRQA, we believe that Red Tractor is important for giving the industry and consumers confidence in food safety and animal welfare within the supply chain. We are committed to Red Tractor Pigs assessments and will help new customers to have a smooth transfer to LRQA.”
