What is the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive?

The EMC Directive, full name Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, applies to you if you design or manufacture electrical and electronic appliances together with equipment and installations containing electrical and/or electronic components which is placed on the market within the European Economic Area.

What does the directive cover?

The Directive covers apparatus liable to cause electromagnetic disturbance or the performance of which is liable to be affected by such disturbance.
