Using ISO 14001 as a direction not a destination
Compliance with the ISO 14001 environmental management system standard helps companies to identify, prioritise and manage environmental risks, and certification by LRQA provides a public demonstration of a company's environmental commitment and helps to ensure that environmental performance is managed and improved.
In 2004 Sound Transit began a long-term initiative to develop an Environmental and Sustainability Management System (ESMS) designed specifically to meet the requirements of ISO 14001.
