World Accreditation Day 2016 highlights the importance of accreditation to support public policy

The theme of this year’s World Accreditation Day, which takes place on 9 June 2016, is ‘Accreditation: A global tool to support public policy’; covering all aspects of the public sector, including national and local government and regulators.

To mark World Accreditation Day, LRQA’s Director of Service Innovation & Governance, Denis Ives, will be speaking at the Dutch Accreditation Council (RVA) Conference in The Hague. “I am honoured to be speaking on behalf of LRQA and the IIOC, the Independent International Organisation for Certification, on the value of accredited safety and environmental management system certification. We know that accredited certification helps organisations, including those in the public sector to identify risks, reduce costs, and improve processes, which ultimately benefits us all.”

World Accreditation Day is a global initiative to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation. It was jointly established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). A website - - has been set up to share case studies that show how accreditation has been used to support public policy initiatives.
