You wouldn’t buy a product without knowing it met minimum standards for safety, reliability or quality but do you think about the services you use on a day to day basis? How do you know that the water you drink meets sanitary requirements or that the mechanic working on your vehicle has been trained to the relevant standards?
According to the World Trade Organization, services are the largest component of most economies and this week, 13-17 June, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is discussing the importance of service standards for driving economic growth and the improvement of quality at the ISO workshop.
Richard Crute Morris, LRQA Assessment Services Capability Development Manager shared his thoughts on the importance of service standards; “Service standards are present in all aspects of daily life, whether we realise it or not. They help to protect, provide a fail-safe and guarantee a minimum expectation for service delivery. This week is a valuable opportunity to find out more and get involved with the standards that impact us.”
Over the course of the week, ISO members will get together along with partners and industry to discuss the topic and share their ideas.
