LRQA ISO Standards Update: ISO 9001:2015 customised training delivers results to Blue Dart in India

NST Blue Dart July 2015

LRQA has delivered a customised training solution to Blue Dart, a leading and integrated express package distribution company and part of the DHL group. The courses, with over 200 Blue Dart Senior Managers and employees as attendees, focused on providing insight and a clear understanding of the revision to the world’s most widely adopted international Quality Management System (QMS) standard, ISO 9001.

The Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) for ISO 9001:2015 was published on July 9, 2015 and signals the first time that specific activities undertaken by organisations will start counting towards their transition to the final standard.

As part of Blue Dart’s customised transition plan from the current ISO 9001:2008 to the updated ISO 9001:2015 (due for publication in September 2015), Shirish Bapat, LRQA Assessment Manager and Vishal Chavan, LRQA Commercial Training Manager, delivered bespoke client training courses focused on helping Blue Dart’s staff appreciate how ISO 9001 is changing, and above all how the changes apply to the company.

Commenting on how Blue Dart benefited from LRQA’s services, Asmita Malvankar, Head of Organization Excellence at Blue Dart said, “The ISO 9001:2015 workshops were extremely useful for aligning and on-boarding the senior management team to the new provisions for compliance. All quality and organisational excellence initiatives need to be driven from the top, and that culture is evidently prevalent in Blue Dart. We have always set the benchmark for the industry and LRQA has been a strategic partner in that journey.”

“The changes to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are intended to ensure that the standards remain relevant to the users of certification and align with the expectations of clients in continuing to develop and gain more value from the investment they have made in implementing their management systems. LRQA is committed to supporting clients through these changes,” stated Basem Obaid, LRQA Area Operations Manager.
