Estelle Clark, Chair of the Technical & Advisory Board at LRQA and also Chair of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) is one of the key participants at the Commonwealth Business Forum, which is being held from the 24th to the 26th November 2015 as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). With the theme for CHOGM being “The Commonwealth - Adding Global Value”, Estelle will join fellow industry influencers - including Lord Lindsay, Chairman of the UK Accreditation Service - in a panel discussion entitled ‘Facilitating Commonwealth Trade’.
“I am delighted and honoured to have been asked to participate at this years’ CHOGM,” said Estelle. “This is a pivotal year for quality, especially bearing in mind that September saw the publication of international quality management system standard ISO 9001:2015 - the most significant revision in years. Given that over 1m organisations worldwide use ISO 9001 to manage their wealth creating processes, it is arguably the most important piece of business literature ever written.” Other aspects that Estelle will be covering during the panel discussion include looking at the ‘quality imperative’ in terms of getting products and services right first time, building trust and brand reputation. In addition, Estelle will cover the value of a properly constructed and managed management system and the organisational benefits that this can deliver.
With almost 1000 delegates, CHOGM provides an excellent opportunity for networking and strengthening trade. As a global organisation, LRQA delivers a range of assurance services to organisations in over 120 countries worldwide and has a number of key markets within the Commonwealth including the UK, Singapore, India and Australia.
